Refund and Returns Policy
Last updated: 9 May 2026
Introduction
At TechWave247, we want customers to be satisfied with their purchases. This Refund & Returns Policy explains when products may be returned, refunded, exchanged, repaired, or replaced.
This policy applies to purchases made from:
Website: https://techwave247.co.za
Email: [email protected]
This policy must be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any product-specific warranty terms.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable South African consumer protection law.
Change-of-mind returns and online cooling-off period
For eligible online purchases, you may request to cancel and return the product within 7 days after receiving your order.
To qualify, the product should be:
- unused;
- complete;
- returned with all accessories, manuals, cables, parts, and included items;
- returned in its original packaging where reasonably possible;
- in a condition suitable for resale, unless the return is due to a defect, incorrect item, or legal right.
The direct cost of returning change-of-mind goods is for the customer’s account, unless we agree otherwise or the law requires otherwise.
Once the returned product is received and inspected, we will process the refund if the return qualifies.
Products that may not qualify for change-of-mind return
Change-of-mind returns may be refused where allowed by law, including where:
- the product was made to the customer’s specifications;
- the product was clearly personalised;
- the product cannot be returned by reason of its nature;
- the product is likely to deteriorate or expire rapidly;
- audio, video, or computer software was unsealed;
- the product was used, damaged, altered, or is missing parts or accessories;
- the product is not the same item supplied by TechWave247.
This does not affect your rights if the product is defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied, or materially different from what was ordered.
Defective, unsafe, or incorrect products
If a product is defective, unsafe, damaged, materially different from its description, or not the item you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law applies, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
We may require the product to be returned for inspection, testing, supplier assessment, or manufacturer assessment before the final remedy is confirmed.
If the product is confirmed to be defective, incorrectly supplied, or damaged due to our error or courier handling before delivery, we will cover the reasonable return shipping cost.
Damaged deliveries
If your order arrives visibly damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery where possible.
Please include:
- your order number;
- photos of the outer packaging;
- photos of the courier label;
- photos of the damaged product;
- a short description of the issue.
Reporting damage within 48 hours helps us submit courier claims and investigate the matter faster. However, this 48-hour request does not remove any statutory rights you may have under South African law.
How to request a return, refund, exchange, or warranty claim
Email us at:
Please include:
- your full name;
- order number;
- contact number;
- reason for the return or refund request;
- photos or video showing the issue, if applicable;
- whether you are requesting a refund, replacement, exchange, repair, or warranty assessment.
We aim to respond within 2 business days.
Do not return products without first contacting us and receiving return instructions. Products returned without authorisation may be delayed or rejected if we cannot identify the order or return reason.
Return shipping
For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the product.
For defective, incorrect, or damaged products confirmed to be caused by TechWave247, the supplier, manufacturer, or courier before delivery, TechWave247 will cover reasonable return shipping costs.
If a returned product is tested and no fault is found, or the fault was caused by misuse, accidental damage, liquid damage, power surge, unauthorised repair, neglect, or incorrect installation, the customer may be responsible for return shipping, inspection, handling, or re-delivery costs where permitted by law.
Inspection and testing
Returned products may be inspected or tested before a refund, replacement, repair, or exchange is approved.
Inspection may include:
- checking the product condition;
- checking serial numbers;
- verifying accessories and packaging;
- testing the reported fault;
- supplier or manufacturer assessment;
- checking for misuse, damage, or unauthorised repair.
We will not unreasonably delay the assessment process.
Refund processing
Approved refunds are normally made to the original payment method where reasonably possible.
Refunds may take 5 to 10 business days to reflect after processing, depending on the bank or payment provider.
Where the ECT Act cooling-off period applies, refunds will be processed within the legally required period.
Delivery fees may be refunded or excluded depending on the reason for the return and applicable law.
Partial refunds
A partial refund may apply where permitted by law if:
- the item is returned incomplete;
- accessories, manuals, packaging, cables, or parts are missing;
- the product was damaged while in the customer’s possession;
- the product shows use beyond reasonable inspection;
- the return is not due to a defect, incorrect supply, or TechWave247 error.
Partial refunds do not apply where the law requires a full refund.
Exchanges
Exchanges are subject to stock availability.
If the replacement item is unavailable, we may offer:
- a refund;
- a replacement product;
- a repair, where applicable;
- store credit, but only where legally allowed and accepted by the customer.
Where the law requires a refund, store credit will not be forced as the only remedy.
Warranties
Some products may include a manufacturer, supplier, importer, or distributor warranty.
Warranty claims may require:
- proof of purchase;
- serial number verification;
- inspection or testing;
- manufacturer or supplier approval;
- return of the product and included accessories.
Warranty cover usually does not include:
- misuse;
- neglect;
- accidental damage;
- liquid damage;
- power surge damage;
- unauthorised repairs;
- software corruption caused by the customer;
- normal wear and tear;
- consumables, unless expressly covered;
- incorrect installation;
- damage caused by incompatible accessories.
Nothing in this warranty section limits your statutory rights under applicable South African law.
Non-refundable costs
Outbound shipping costs may be non-refundable for change-of-mind returns, unless the law requires otherwise.
Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is the customer’s responsibility.
If the return is due to a confirmed defective, incorrect, or damaged product caused before delivery, we will cover reasonable return shipping costs.
Failed or refused deliveries
If a delivery fails because the customer provided incorrect delivery details, was unavailable, refused delivery without lawful reason, or failed to collect the parcel where required, additional courier, return, re-delivery, or handling costs may apply.
